Lynne Liberato, 43, has been a
partner in the Houston law firm
Haynes and Boone for the last
six years. She received her bachelor
of science degree in journalism
from Sam Houston State University
in 1974. Liberato went on to receive
her master of science degree in
journalism from East Texas State
University and her law degree
form South Texas College of Law.
Before she went to Haynes and
Boone, Liberato worked for nine
years as chief of staff attorney
for the First Court of Appeals.
Liberato is the co-author of "Summary
Judgments in Texas, 355.Tex.L.J.9"
and the co-author director of
the Advanced Civil Trial Course,
State Bar of Texas, 1995. Liberato
currently is the director and
chairwoman of the State Bar of
Texas. She served as the first
woman president of the Houston
Bar Association between 1993 and
1994. She serves as the director
of the United Way of Texas Gulf
Coast, the chairwoman of United
Way Implementation Redesign Committee
and member of the Attorney Admission
Fund for the Southern District
of Texas. In 1992, Liberato was
chosen as the distinguished alumni
of the year at the South Texas
College of Law and one of the
top 10 "Women on the Move" by
The Houston Post. She was chosen
in 1993 as the YMCA woman of the
year and as a woman of excellence
by the Federation of Houston Professional
Women in 1994 |
