Trips and Workshops
The trips and workshops offered by the Outdoor Recreation program at Sam Houston State University are open to anyone who wants a truly unique experience. Trips can vary in difficulty from easy to strenuous and range from an afternoon in a canoe to a week in the backcountry. No experience is necessary to sign up, and in most cases we provide all the transportation, equipment, food, training and supervision you’ll need. This is your chance to get outside, try something different, and live the life less ordinary.

Far better is it to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure, than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy much nor suffer much, because they live in the gray twilight that knows no victory nor defeat.

- Theodore Roosevelt
