The Kitchen

The Kitchen
This is a replica of the kitchen that was on Sam's property. It is located where we think the original was located and was entirely hand built without the help of any modern 20th century tools.

The walkway from the kitchen to the house was often called the "whistle walk." This was because the owners often had their slaves whistle while they brought the meals to the house. This was done to prevent the slaves from stealing any of their food, since you can only do one thing with your mouth at a time.
